We learned about emphasis in art. By tracing our hands and feet, our self portraits (selfies) became distorted! Since the paper is too small to draw our entire body lifesize, our body became small but our hands and feet are enlarged! This made our hands and feet emphasized. After we are done with our feet, hands, and body, we will add backgrounds and color with crayons! Can't wait to show our completed work!!
1st Grade Artists made corn inspired by Kandinsky's Squares with Concentric Circles. Using warm colored crayons, we made corn into art! Wassily Kandinsky's Squares with Concentric Circles, 1913 Some of our finished work! Have a blessed Thanksgiving everyone!
5th Grade Artists learned about Wassily Kandinsky and his abstract style of painting. First, we studied some of his work including Composition Number 8 and Yellow, Red, Blue. We looked carefully at each painting and noticed a trend in his work. In our paintings we followed the rules listed below. 1. Overlapping 2. Repeating shapes 3. Shapes inside of shapes 4. Line (follow leader lines) 5. Colors 6. Run off edge 7. 3-D Shapes 8. Shapes and background areas are filled in and some are open Hope you can come check out our murals on display in the 5th Grade hallway! 1-4 Grade Art has started working on their Rode Art projects! 5th Grade will start next week.
